From Box to Cajón: Peta's Heritage (bilingual)=UN
This inspiring short film focuses on a little-known black latino community's music and culture based on its musical instruments and the masters who play them. We pay special attention to the cajón drum, used in modern flamenco, latin jazz, and other musical forms in addition to Afro-Peruvian music AND the film talks about the special challenges faced by women percussionists. The documentary is bilingual (English-Spanish) and comes with three fascinating extras.
