"Rasaki's Drums and the rich rhythms of Nigeria's Yorubá" explores a community which is part of the heritage of many African Americans. It has created many of the world's most complicated rhythms and the Yorubá are the creators of the famous "talking drums" of West Africa.

Our protagonist, Rasaki Aladokun, is particularly well equipped to lead us on this journey. He toured the world for many years with King Sunny Adé, the "King of Juju Music" and has since settled down in Oakland, California. Through his drums, demonstrations, and explanations, we learn about this culture and a musical tradition that deserves to be better known.
